Teaching Responsibilities

  • FOR 2514 Wildland Fire: Ecology and Management
  • FOR 3334 Silviculture Field Lab at Spring Camp
  • FOR 3364 Survey of Forest Ecology and Management
  • FOR 4364 Advanced Silviculture and Forest Vegetation Management
  • FOR 4514 Forest Protection

Selected Research Activities

  • Stand Development and Competition in Piedmont Mixed Forests (McIntire-Stennis, Kennedy Fund): This study will determine the growth, yield, and stand development of hardwood, hardwood-pine, and pine stands. The relative yields and competitiveness different tree species are being determined when grown with and without the influence of herbaceous vegetation.
  • Surfactant-Mediated Forest Herbicide Uptake (BASF Dupont Dow AgroSciences, Hellena Chemical): This study evaluates organosilicon and seed oil based surfactants for herbicide uptake in forest weed species, and improvement in woody weed control.
  • Rapid Screening of Woody Plant Herbicides (Dow AgroSciences): Objectives of this study are to determine if woody plant seed or greenhouse seedling screening can substitute for conventional primary field herbicide screening, and to develop new herbicides for forestry and right-of-way uses.
