Jeff Kirwan - Professor/Extension Specialist 4-H and Youth Forestry
Teaching Responsibilities
- Develop youth forestry and wildlife programs throughout Virginia.
- Provide assistance to 4-H Extension Agents, who deliver educational programs to schools, clubs, special interest groups, and camps.
- Informal and experiential education, camping and outdoor experiences, involving youth in research
Selected Extension Activities
- Coordinate the Virginia 4-H pine seedling program.
- Conduct forestry and wildlife weekend camps for youth.
- Present in-service seminars for 4-H Extension Agents.
- Direct state 4-H judging competitions in forestry, wildlife and soils.
- Provide field services to Extension Agents and 4-H Centers as needed.
- Serve on state and national 4-H forestry curriculum committees.
- Organize on-campus forestry and wildlife programs for youth.
