Research Projects
-
Developing a Bioenergy Roadmap for the Southern U.S. (2008): This is a project funded by the Southern Growth Policies Board. The goals of the project are to identify bioenergy assets of the South in the areas of general, policy, research, and commercial/industry and create a coherent set of recommendations aimed at improving sustainable bioenergy industries in the southern U.S.
-
Impacts of Bioenergy Production on the Conservation of Wildlife Habitat (2007-08): This is a project funded by the National Council for Science and the Environment. The over-arching objective is to use the best, currently available information to assess the impacts of an increase in bioenergy production on wildlife habitat conservation at the national, regional, and state levels.
-
Bioenergy Incentives and Forest Sustainability in the Southern U.S. (2006-09): This is a multi-institutional project jointly funded by the Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The goal of this project is to determine the optimum mix of policy instruments that can bridge current management and sustainable forest management of non-industrial private forests with wood energy as a product in the US.
